Covid-19 Update
2021 - Level 1
While we have moved down level please still maintain the general rules around covid hygiene / tracing;
- Please do NOT come to tennis if you are feeling unwell.
- Please have the Govt Covid App downloaded from the Ministry of Health website or from the App Store, and scan it when you come to the club. An alternative, but not as good, is to keep a list of your visits to the courts on paper.
- The tennis courts and clubrooms will be open, and club play and socialising can resume. You can get a drink of water and use the toilets, but please wash your hands and use hand sanitiser.
- We will be cleaning the clubrooms after club days (Tue and Sat), but please take care to wash hands/surfaces and continue to stay safe.

Life Membership Awarded to Mal Clarbrough
Rob Brown had the pleasure to speak a few words to Mal's Life Membership Award at our recent AGM.
"The Committee has agreed that this is an appropriate time and occasion to recognize, with gratitude, the immense contribution made by Mal to the success of the club over the preceding twelve years where he has served on the Committee, principally as our most excellent Treasurer.  Mal has however many other strings to his bow, exemplified by his undertaking many other tasks and roles and from which he has emerged as a true club stalwart, and I will go further and say, that if a dollar value could be placed on human resources then Mal would feature on our balance sheet as a major club asset. And so, confident of your support, it gives me much pleasure to nominate Mal for election as a life member of the club, and Mr Chairman I move accordingly."

Head Coach Update
We're very excited to have Andrew Falck stepping into Jack's Head Coaching shoes at Mt Pleasant Tennis Club. Andrew's coaching qualifications and experience are vast - he's a High Performance Coach with ITF Level 2 qualifications; he was voted Canterbury's Club Coach of the Year 2015; and High Performance Coach of the Year 2016 & 2017. It's Andrew, under his role of Hot Shots and Coach Education Coordinator at Canterbury Tennis, who coaches and develops our coaches.

Andrew will be teaming up with Dougal and Izzy (familar faces from last season) to deliver our Hot Shots Programme on Saturday mornings, and mid week Interclub coaching (to be scheduled).

In the same breath we want to acknowledge Jack and his contribution to our club over the past 12 months. He has injected a whole lot of enthusiasm and technical improvements across our junior members (and some parents via skills and drills!), and has been a privilege to work with. We know he's going be just as awesome as Head Coach for Mid Canterbury.
